Cinqueterre, Italy (2007)

Cinqueterre is a stretch of coast that includes 5 (cinque) towns.  Much like Capri with its winding paths and beautiful scenery, but much more extensive and interesting.  You could really spend a good chunk of time in Cinqueterre.

We rented an apartment in Riomaggiore that wonderful views looking up slope (left) and down (right).

Riomaggiore.

A meal with Pogen and Emu.  I had pesto because this is where it originated.

We headed out on one of those beautiful coastal paths.

Definitely happiness.

The views were magnificent.

Ugly sunglasses people.

Kissy chair.

They really built right in to the topography.

The next town over from Riomaggiore was Manarola.

A bustling, interesting little town like Riomaggiore, but we didn’t have time to much spend in Manarola.

Out on the blue-tiful walks.

The next town, Corniglia, was built a bit higher up from the sea.

Looking out over the sea near Corniglia.

Lunch in Corniglia consisted of pesto and stuffed mussels.  Mmm.

The fish was fresh.

Looking down from Corniglia.

Carmel was so happy to dip her feet in the sea.

I was happy to climb atop the wall.

Vernazza came by in a flash because, well, we decided to stop walking and hop on the train instead.

The last of the 5 was Monterosso, which was big, lively and had a beautiful beach.

Eating some fantastic bruschetta and watching the sunset.

Sunset.

Ciao beautiful Cinqueterre!  Until we meet again!
