Dublin, Ireland (2006)

Just spent 5 days in Dublin, Ireland, land of leprechauns, pots o' gold, 4-leaf clovers, St. Patrick's Day, and most importantly, Guinness, one of the finest beers in the world. It truly is a Guinness nation, even more so than Korea is a Samsung nation. The locals drink little else and no other Irish beer even comes to a close second (Porterhouse microbrew). The nightlife was subsequently hoppin, as much as the hops in the beer. We spent a lot of time at Trinity College for Carmel's conference; Trinity serves all of Dublin and Ireland. We also spent a lot of time drinking Guinness and watching the football matches (not soccer games). As a final note, Dublin had fantastic, and I mean truly fantastic, tap water. No seriously it did. It was really good and refreshing and stuff. Oh and Nickelodeon had a show on called Naked and Funny.

This is the main river that all borders all the action.

The Dublin hypodermic space needle.

We found this contraption fascinating. It was a washer AND dryer built in 1.

The Dublin Castle was kind of weak

Because they merged office buildings and a parking lot right into it.

Let's go check out the hops...

At the Guinness Factory!

A swimming pool of hops.

Yeast.

Oh that precious precious water.

Dryw was (not) here.

More factory-looking stuff.

Finally at the Guinness Bar for my free pint and a view of the city.

I enjoy my free pint.

I continue to enjoy my free pint.
