Lima, Peru (2007, 2008)

Lima, according to most people and tour books, is not a desirable city to visit. There are no major features nor center, and the air is always a polluted haze. It's constantly foggy there because of a northward flowing ocean current from Antarctic that mixes with the warmer equatorial waters just outside Lima.

We went to the one somewhat recommended attraction, which was the Museo de la Nacion, and that was just okay. But, we did make the most of Lima and decided to go on a culinary tour of the best restaurants the city had to offer. And, that turned out well.

Every time I pass through Lima on my way to work near Cusco, I try to get a meal or two in at the great ceviche restaurants of the city.

Passing through the Lima airport in 2008, Israel and I looked into the knife bin and were amused to see that giant butchers knife.
