Lisbon, Portugal (2002)

Oddly enough, Lisboa (pronounced with an "oa"--think of a french guy laughing hoah hoah hoah) reminded us remarkably of San Francisco. We first felt this way as we noted the many bridges leading to the city. When we experienced the many hills and complicated streets, we felt even more like we were back in the Bay Area. But when we saw the ponte 25 de Abril (see below), our jaws dropped -- they copied the Golden Gate Bridge! Despite the blatant rip-off, we really enjoyed Lisboa. We greatly appreciated the different palette - finally we could get fresh fruit juice and the pastries were wonderful, not to mention a great diversity of restaurants fostered by liberal Portugese immigration laws. We only wish that San Francisco would copy Lisboa and install giant elevators in the streets.

Outisde el Castelo de Sao Jorge. This castle was really fun because it was free and un-monitored--they let you run around the entire castle and explore without anything touristy about it.

Uh huh, uh huh, uh huh.

Wheeeere's Josh (left)? There he is (right)!

Nyaaaaahhhhh. Aren't we disgustingly cheesy?
