Seville, Spain (2002)

When we arrived in Seville (pronounced Sevilla, Sev-ee-yah), the in-dash thermometer of our taxi read 41degrees. As this was approximately 8:30 at night, we were a bit surprised. We did the mental conversion and realized that this translated to over 104 degrees Fahrenheit. We simply did not want to know how hot it got in the daytime. On top of the heat, Carmel got food poisoning (if you go to Pizzeria San Marco, which used to be an Arab bathhouse and has an amazing interior, we recommend you avoid the duck). But despite adversity, we really liked Seville. We found it quite charming, and it is the place to go if you want to see good Flamenco.
